Sermon notes – Martyn Lloyd-Jones Mark 9:28-29
I decided to start some occasional sermon notes from sermons I listen to online. Right now I’m enjoying listening to Martyn Lloyd-Jones, a doctor and pastor from the 1950’s. He has an incredible way of getting to the root of an issue and applying the gospel directly to the problem.
Some friends and I are currently going through his massive book Studies in the Sermon on the Mount (a book that our pastor and Pastor John MacArthur and many others said completely changed their lives, and boy is it making a difference in ours!). Sometimes I’ll pull up a sermon on the app, and take notes and then summarize and doodle. There’s something about thinking though how to organize notes and what to illustrate (and how) that makes it stick in my head. So, here are my notes from the sermon on Mark 9:29-29, Diagnosing the Need.
Ya, it ended up being six pages! The last is just some things I am thinking through, but he has such a way with the Word that it’s hard to summarize more than that. Maybe as time goes on, I’ll get better! You can listen to the sermon here.
