{Weekly review} Week 49 reflections, week 50 plans
I’m a day late because a busy weekend kept me from my planner and this post, but I figure Tuesday is better than never, right? Can you believe we are already at week 50 of 2025?!?
Week Review
- Project last week:
Repaint wall behind toilet.
DONE!! I finally got this done and it looks much better - Books I’m Reading:
We Live in Alaska–Nightstand book: on chapter 16 of 22
The End of Absence— DEAR book: on chapter 8 of 9
Cranford–Set aside until I finish one of the above books
Storyworthy by Matthew Dicks–Finished this book. Lots of good stuff if you want to be a good story teller, but again, it is not a Christian book. There are some topics that kept coming up that aren’t detailed, but still. And a few cuss words. I hope to continue “Homework for Life” through 2026 and see what happens. Since I finished it, I want to review my underlines and add some notes to my reading notebook and commonplace book.
GOAL: Continue D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read) at 3pm. - School: (My friend and I are taking Introduction to the Constitution, from Hillsdale College)
LAST WEEK’S GOAL: Finish lesson 4. DONE!!
Part of the reading for lesson 4 included a long letter that Thomas Jefferson wrote to the King of England in 1774, Summary View of the Rights of British America. It was a long read, but really fascinating. It really makes you feel for the early Americans, and no wonder it lead to the war for independence. But I had no idea until I read this letter that in addition to preventing American Colonies from having a legislature to make their own laws, the King also rejected laws for the abolition of domestic slavery. Did you know that?
Here’s a quote from the letter “The abolition of domestic slavery is the great object of desire in those colonies where it was unhappily introduced in their infant state. But previous to the infranchisement (liberation) of the slaves we have, it is necessary to exclude all further importations from Africa. Yet our repeated attempts to effect this by prohibitions, and by imposing duties which might amount to a prohibition, have been hitherto defeated by his majesty’s negative…”
THIS WEEK’S GOAL: Finish Lesson 5 - Memory: (Currently working on Exodus 34:7.) Goal: 5x a week.
Result: 3/5 -Got it down. Moving on to 1 Thess 5:14-18. The Exodus verse card will go into my ‘odd’ day review tab from this scripture memory system we used to do this for homeschool. I still think it’s almost the perfect system to keep up on memory verses and not let them slip away. - Exercise: (Goal: strength 3x a week, & cardio at least 2x)
This week I tried a new YouTube personal trainer, Trish, a lady from Ireland (love her accent). It was fun and she had some moves that I haven’t done before (not hard, just different).
Result: Strength: 2/3 Cardio: 1/2- Mon–Ran errands
- Tues-Did the first half of this strength video.
- Wed-Completed this cardio (and strength!) video
- Thurs- Strength video
