{Weekly review} THANKSGIVING! Week 48 reflections, week 49 plans.
Well, it was Thanksgiving. That’s all I have to say for myself…
Week Review
- Project last week: Repaint wall behind toilet.
(hahaha! Ya, nope, didn’t get to that) - Books I’m Reading:
I had a pretty good week staying off my phone in the evenings and reading instead.
We Live in Alaska–Nightstand book: on chapter 14 of 22
The End of Absence— DEAR book: on chapter 7 of 9 (having quite a few margin discussions with the author)
Cranford–zero progress (I think I’ll set this aside until I’m done with one of the books above.)
Storyworthy by Matthew Dicks–Not a Christian book. Evening book: on chapter 8 of 23. I’m currently trying to implement his Homework for Life: “Spend 5 minutes each day writing down one or more meaningful moments. A few sentences a day are all it takes to preserve your life story—and create a collection of memories you’ll cherish forever.”
GOAL: Continue D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read) at 3pm. - School: (My friend and I are taking Introduction to the Constitution, from Hillsdale College)
LAST WEEK’S GOAL: Finish lesson 4 before next Monday’s weekly review post. –>zero progress.
THIS WEEK’S GOAL: Again: Finish Lesson 4. - Memory: (Currently working on Exodus 34:7.) Goal: 5x a week.
Result: 2/5 -Got it down pretty good. Still a few pauses when reciting it, so I’ll work another week on it. - Exercise: (Goal: strength 3x a week, & cardio at least 2x)
This week I tried a new YouTube personal trainer, Trish, a lady from Ireland (love her accent). It was fun and she had some moves that I haven’t done before (not hard, just different).
Result: Strength: 1/3 Cardio: 1/2- Mon–Did nothing but run errands
- Tues– This strength video and this cool down
- Wed–Did this cardio video and was a bit sore from yesterday, but not bad.
- Thurs–THANKSGIVING and no exercise
- Fri–Walk around the block with grandaughters and Corey (very slow, but fun)
- Sat–short hike around Christmas tree farm
- Evening routine: (Goal: 7 times/7 days a week):
Result: 1/7 – hahaha! Lame! (but it was a week of Thanksgiving prep) - Zone cleaning: Last week was the bedroom and office zone. (Goal: Get at least 5 tasks done):
Result: 0/5 (see below) – Oh well.
Projects & tasks from last week:
- PROJECT: (a project has more than one step) Repaint wall behind toilet.
I have to: 1. wash the wall. 2. tape the wall 3. get out the roller and paint pans. 4. Paint the wall.
(Hahaha! Past Kari had lots of hopes and dreams that Thanksgiving Kari rolled her eyes at.) Complete my daily Thanksgiving tasks to avoid working all Thanksgiving Day!Did pretty good here, but still left too much for Thanksgiving Day. Need to change this for next year. But overall it was a success!- Finish four zone cleaning tasks (Living room and Dining room) hahaha! NOPE.
- Clean dining room window inside and out
- Clean the carpet
- Detail clean the dining room table and chairs
- Wash dining room walls and light switch
Projects & tasks for this week:
- PROJECT: Again, sigh: repaint the wall behind the toilet.
- Clean out the dying flower pots on the front porch and fill with greenery
- Clean carpet after all the festivities.
- Front porch zone cleaning
- Clean up the cobwebs
- Clean front window
- Clean up flowerbeds
- Clean front door
- Hang wreath

I love how you have the projects, the steps, the routines all laid out. I’m gonna have to think more about how I can do that.
My top 3 for this week are school, paid work, and bible reading. School is one, and day 1 went just fine. No paid work so far, so working on other things, like reading and gardening. And Day 1 of doing the bible reading done for today. My goal is to just do one chapter each day, more is okay, but 1 is all that required. I got 2 read today!
Most of my indoor projects for this interval are done, its the outside ones left to work on these last two weeks of this interval. But today the high was low 40s, and drizzly. Not a day I want to be outside during, and the weather is forecasted to warm up after this cold spell.
I realized while working on READY5, that designed by Mystie Winkler, I need to renew my exercise plans. So I was up this morning and did my indoor routine! I’ve got this all typed out here, maybe I can turn it into a decent blog post. 😀
