{Commonplace} a good question
John G. Mitchell was a pastor and professor who loved his Lord and helped found a Bible college here in Portland, Oregon. He’s been with the Lord for over 30 years now, but he taught many great pastors and left a huge impact on thousands of people. This is a quote I heard him speak on one of his Unchanging Word Broadcast radio shows. (Unfortunately I don’t remember which one it was!)

“A question I like to ask people is “What kind of God do you have?”
Then I follow up with “How do you know he’s that kind of God?”
If you’d like to know more about him, there’s a biography here, his old radio shows here, and a tribute to him here. All who took a class from him are certain he had the entire Bible memorized. One of his favorite questions to ask his students was, “Don’t you folks ever read your Bibles?”
